From precious-metal foundations to natural stones, freshwater pearls, and hand-cut Mother of Pearl, each material is selected for the qualities it brings to the finished piece, and for the individual variations that make every jewel distinct.

A Palette Shaped by Nature
Natural materials bring qualities that cannot be fully replicated or controlled: shifting light, individual banding, tonal depth, and subtle differences in surface and lustre.
These variations are not imperfections. They are evidence of natural origin and part of what makes each finished piece individual.

Colour, banding, lustre, inclusions, and surface character naturally vary from one stone, shell, or pearl to another. These differences are part of their origin—and part of what makes every Cirque D’Or jewel individual.

Precious Metals and Considered Finishes
Every Cirque D’Or piece begins with a precious-metal foundation chosen for strength, definition, and enduring wear. Finishes are selected not only for colour, but for the way they alter light and bring clarity to the form.
18kt Gold Vermeil
Our gold vermeil is created with a substantial 2.5-micron layer of 18kt gold over sterling silver, bringing warmth and depth to a precious-metal foundation.
Rhodium-Plated Sterling Silver
Rhodium gives sterling silver a bright, cool-toned surface while helping protect it from everyday tarnishing.
THE WORK OF TRANSFORMATION
Shaped Through Skilled Hands
A material reveals its full character through the way it is cut, fitted, refined, set, and finished. Each stage respects both the original drawing and the particular qualities of the material being worked.
Inspiration
Each collection begins with inspiration drawn from movement, ornament, costume, and the visual language of the cirque.
Drawing
Ideas are translated by hand, where proportion, rhythm, and the relationship between motifs are first resolved.
CAD
The drawing is developed into precise technical form, refining scale, construction, and the details required for production.
Cutting Stone
Mother of Pearl is cut with precision to follow the geometry of the design while preserving its natural character.
Filing & Refining
Metal is filed and shaped by hand to refine proportion, soften transitions, and prepare each component for finishing and setting.
Polishing
Successive stages of polishing bring clarity and luminosity while preserving the details that define the piece.
Setting
Each Mother of Pearl inlay is aligned and secured in relation to the surrounding metal structure.

Made in Small Quantities
We work in considered quantities rather than excess, allowing materials, finishing, and detail to remain at the centre of each piece. It is a slower approach to jewellery—one built around intention, not volume.
